Short version: we collect what we need to talk to you about membership of The Wingman Club, we use a small number of companies to do it, we do not sell anything to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by asking.
The Wingman Club, a private members club for men, Stoke-on-Trent. Contact jamie@jamiecartwright.co.uk. We are the data controller for everything described on this page.
That is the whole form. We ask for your postcode so we do not waste your time if you live too far away, and it is not used for anything else. We do not ask for a date of birth, an address or anything financial.
To contact you about founding membership of The Wingman Club, by phone, text or email, and to run your membership if you join. That is the whole of it. We do not use it for anything else and we do not add you to any other list.
Our lawful basis is your consent for marketing contact, which you give by submitting the form after being told, on the form itself, what we will do with it. Once you become a member the basis becomes performance of a contract.
Three companies are involved. These are our only processors.
If we later take a payment, it will be handled by Stripe, who hold card details. We never see or store your card number.
Until you ask us to delete it, or two years after your last contact with us, whichever comes first. Analytics data is kept for two months and then deleted automatically.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jamie@jamiecartwright.co.uk and we will do it within one working day. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link and it works.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It is configured for statistics only, in the narrow way that UK law permits without asking your consent first:
We do not use it to build a profile of you, to follow you around other websites, or to target advertising. That is why we do not put analytics behind the consent bar. The Meta pixel described below is a different thing and it does sit behind consent.
If you would rather not be counted at all, press the button. It sets a flag in this browser and the analytics script will not load again. It affects this browser and this device only, and it does not stop the form working.
Checking…
We advertise this club on Facebook and Instagram. To find out whether those adverts actually work, we can load a small piece of code from Meta called a pixel. It tells us that a visit came from one of our adverts and, if you go on to join the list, that the advert led to a signup.
It does not tell us your name, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to advertise to you anywhere else. Nothing from Meta loads unless you have said yes to it. If you have not been asked yet, or you said no, no request is made to Meta from this site at all.
You were asked with a bar at the bottom of the page on your first visit, with the refusal offered as plainly as the agreement. Your answer is remembered in this browser only.
This clears your answer and asks you again. It affects this browser and this device only. Turning it off stops any further tracking, but we cannot reach back and remove what Meta already received while it was on. To do that, ask Meta through your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count a visit. If you have agreed to the Meta pixel, Meta sets cookies too. Nothing else on this site sets a cookie. Both of the controls above use local storage in your browser rather than a cookie, which is why they survive without one.
Every interior image is an artist's impression of a room that has not been built yet. We label them so nobody is in any doubt.
